The Division of Nephrology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is uniquely qualified to provide training in all areas of nephrology. Fellows training at Vanderbilt will acquire a solid foundation for a successful academic career or clinical practice. In addition to traditional nephrology training (I) , we offer specialized training in renal transplantation (II) .
Vanderbilt University School of Nursing offers a Master of Science in Nursing degree in several nurse practitioner specialties. The Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program has a focus in nephrology that prepares nurse practitioners to function collaboratively with the nephrology health care team in primary, secondary, and tertiary settings. The nurse practitioners provide care for patients who are acutely, chronically, or critically ill at various points in the renal disease-dialysis-transplant spectrum. Didactic content and clinical preceptorships are coordinated and taught by various members of the nephrology health care team.
