Clinical Pharmacology at Vanderbilt is vibrant. With over 35 faculty and 25 postdoctoral fellows, members of the division are engaged in a wide variety of research efforts. The division integrates with other efforts in the pharmacological sciences at Vanderbilt including the Department of Pharmacology, the Vanderbilt Institute for Chemical Biology, and the Center in Molecular Toxicology. The six main areas of research interest within the division include: 1) pharmacogenetics and drug disposition and metabolism, 2) fatty acid oxidation and lipid mediator pharmacology, 3) ion channel pharmacology and arrhythmia pharmacogenomics, 4) human cardiovascular pharmacology and autonomic dysfunction, 5) bone and cancer pharmacology, and 6) pharmacoepidemiology. We offer rigorous fellowship training in the discipline to prepare individuals for careers in academia, industry, or government.
