Research

Hospitalist investigators are actively involved in interdisciplinary research related to quality improvement, patient safety, implementation science, care transitions, medication management, and health communication. A well-developed research portfolio includes extramural funding from the NIH, AHRQ, CMS, PCORI, and VA. Hospitalist faculty play leadership roles in the Center for Clinical Quality and Implementation Research, Center for Effective Health Communication, and Center for Health Services Research, and actively collaborate with other research programs in the Center for Quality Aging, Department of Biomedical Informatics, and School of Nursing. These established relationships ensure that our faculty have a broad pool of collaborators and mentors from which to draw.
