Caroline Barrett, M.D.

Brief Description: Caroline was raised in Mooresville, North Carolina, a suburb of Charlotte. She spent her childhood years playing soccer and basketball, devoting far too many hours to club and school teams prior to her early peak in high school, and also enjoyed boating on her hometown lake, Lake Norman. She attended the University of North Carolina for undergrad, where she majored in nutrition at the Gillings School of Global Public Health and met her husband, Hunter. She spent a gap year away from Chapel Hill, working as a clinical research coordinator in orthopaedic trauma at Carolinas Medical Center, before returning to UNC for medical school and falling in love with internal medicine. In her spare time, Caroline still plays soccer and basketball and also enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, trying out new restaurants, attempting to brew beer with her husband, and cheering on the Tar Heels. Since the UNC men’s basketball team has now bookended her years in Chapel Hill with national championships, she has decided it is finally time to leave Chapel Hill and the state of North Carolina. She is beyond excited to move to Nashville and join the intern class at Vanderbilt! Member of AOA
