Erica grew up in the foothills of the Sierras in Northern California with her parents and younger brother and sister. Her most treasured childhood memories include sailing on the lake of her family lakehouse, milking goats at her parents’ ranch, helping out in her mother’s Montessori school, and riding horses with her sister. She attended college at the University of San Diego earning a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in theology and religious studies. With a passion for travel and exploration, she spent a few months after college doing mission work in Ecuador where she furthered her interest in medical missions. She attended medical school in St. Maarten and received a breadth of experiences rotating in multiple training hospitals from the outskirts of London, England to icy Wisconsin. She spent her internship year training in internal medicine at UT Houston prior to transferring to Vanderbilt. Her favorite part of medicine is teaching her patients about their health and she looks forward to implementing education and mentoring into her practice. In her spare time she likes to West Coast swing dance, cook, spend quality time with friends, and work on her ping pong game.
