Brief Description: Neil was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia as the youngest of four. He went on to Charlottesville, Virginia to attend undergrad at UVa, which will forever hold a special place in his heart. From there, he moved to Nashville where he has spent the last five years pursuing his MD/MBA at Vanderbilt. His decision to enter the joint MBA program stemmed from his interest in healthcare delivery systems, payment models, and operations. While he plans to never abandon the clinical side of medicine, he would love to one day complement his clinical duties with related business or leadership responsibilities. Since moving to Nashville five years ago, Neil has also had the opportunity to nurture his music fandom, seeing concerts by many of his favorite groups including the Head & the Heart, Amos Lee, Avett Brothers, Edward Sharpe, and the Lumineers. In his spare time, he enjoys most any activity that involves running around, playing games with friends. He also loves reading medical narrative and other healthcare-related writing on a variety of topics ranging from medical error, to end-of-life care, to policy. He’s holding on loosely to his newfound relationship with Netflix and HBO On Demand, but recently enjoyed having his mind blown by Stranger Things and Westworld. More than any of these things, however, Neil’s pride and joy is his baby girl, Ellie, born to him and his wife Mary in November 2016. He is excited to get to know the rest of his future resident family while continuing to live life in the beautiful city of Nashville.
