Rachael Petry, M.D.

Brief Description: Rachael was born and raised in Winchester, Tennessee-- a small town located in the triangle made by Lynchburg (Jack Daniel's), Manchester (Bonnaroo), and Sewanee, TN. She grew up on Tim's Ford Lake and has been water skiing and hiking for as long as she can remember. Rachael graduated from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia in 2013. There, she studied biology and poverty & human capability studies. During her undergraduate career, Rachael studied abroad at the University of St Andrews in sunny Scotland and was granted an internship through the Shepherd Consortium to live and study healthcare and poverty in Thailand. In Thailand, Rachael developed a passion for Thai food and became a named member of the Hash House Harriers-- an international running club. Rachael returned to Tennessee to attend medical school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. She found a passion in working with the elderly during her time at the VAMC in Memphis, and this solidified her decision to pursue a career in internal medicine. She enjoys running, yoga, cooking (eating), watching Netflix, and she is an avid Memphis Grizzlies fan. Rachael is extremely excited to be coming home to middle Tennessee for residency.
