Scott McCall, M.D., Ph.D.

Brief Description: Scott was born and raised in Colorado on his family’s ranch. His father is a veterinarian, so he thought most medicine was practiced on things with four legs while he was growing up. He attended Kansas State University for undergrad where he was on K-State’s rodeo team while simultaneously confirming his true inner nerd working in an organometallic chemistry lab. For medical school and graduate training (in pharmacology), he came to Vanderbilt where he worked on basement membranes and discovered that Br is an essential trace element for all animals…don’t worry, you’re not deficient. He is married to Natalie, currently a renal fellow here at Vanderbilt, and they enjoy cooking, hiking, and spending as much time on the Gulf Coast as possible where there is no better combination of beach lounging and bay fishing for redfish. Scott and Natalie are looking forward to hosting some great parties during football season and continuing to enjoy everything Nashville has to offer.
